VI. MEASUREMENT OF SIZE
1. Size Measurement as per ASTMC 67:
1.1 Test Specimens: measure ten dry full size units. These units shall be representative of the shipment and shall include the extremes of colour range and size as determined by visual inspection of the shipment. (The same samples may be used for determining efflorescence and other properties.)
1.2 Individual measurement of Length, Width and Depth: Measure the length along both beds and
along both faces from the midpoints of the edges bounding the units. Record these four measurements to the nearest 1 mm and record the average to the nearest 0.5 mm as the length. Measure in like manner across both ends from the midpoints of the edges bounding the units. Record these four measurements of the nearest 1 mm and record the average to the nearest 0.5 mm as the width. Measure the depth across both faces and both ends from the midpoints of the edges bounding the beds. Record these four measurements to the nearest 1 mm and record the average to the nearest 0.5 mm as the depth. Use either steel rule/gauge. Retest by the same method when required.

2. Dimensional Test of Brick as per Bangladesh Standard (BDS-208, 1980):
2.1 Number of Specimens: 24 bricks, for carrying out dimensional tests as per BDS-208, 1980
2.2 Preparation f Specimens: Any small projection or loose particles of clay which might adhered to the face of the brick shall be removed before the bricks are assembled for measurement.
2.3 Measurement:
2.3.1 For measurement of the length: we have to put 24 brick specimens one after other lengthwise; and have to measure the total length, which should be between 568 cm(227 in.) to 588(235 in.) as per BDS-208, 1980.
2.3.2 Similarly for measurement of the width; we have to put 24 brick specimen one after other widthwise; and have to measure the total width of the 24 specimens, which should be between 281cm(112 in) to 291(116 in).
2.3.2 For measurement of depth; we have to put 24 brick specimens side by side depthwise; and have to measure the total depth of the 24 specimens, which should be between 165 cm(65 in.) to 171 cm(235 in.).
